Two Nottingham based barman have flown into the record books today by changing their names to reflect their superhuman personalities.

The record breaking names, now thought be the worlds longest names were the brainchild of best friends Kelvin Borbidge (22) and Daniel Knox-Hewson (23), who decided to change their names to mark their love of superheroes as they were growing up.

The duo changed their names to ‘Emperor Spiderman Gandalf Wolverine Skywalker Optimus Prime Goku Sonic Xavier Ryu Cloud Superman HeMan Batman Thrash’ and ‘Baron Venom Balrog Sabretooth Vader Megatron Vegeta Robotnik Magneto Bison Sephiroth Lex Luthor Skeletor Joker Grind’.

Knocking 19 year-old George Garratt off the top spot for the longest moniker in the UK, after he changed his name to Captain Fantastic Faster than Superman Spiderman Batman Wolverine Hulk and the Flash Combined, the pair changed their names with The Legal Deed Poll Service for just £10 each earlier this week.

We couldn’t believe how easy was to do, we just had to fill in a few forms and we were granted superhero status.”

“The first name and surname were to simply put my awesomeness into words. I then combined the names of all the greatest heroes known to man and added them as my middle names to show that I am super serious.

“We have truly blown George Garratt’s name out of the water.”

Baron Grind, formerly known as Kelvin Borbidge, works at a local pub chain, he said: “The look on my area manger’s face when he asked why my till now said ‘Baron’ was priceless. Our families were shocked and thought that we were crazy. At this moment in time, I am looking forward to changing my name on my bank card, I wonder how they will fit it all on.”

He continued: “Introducing myself to somebody in a serious situation will never be the same again.”

Tina Clough speaking on behalf of the Legal Deed Poll Service said: “We receive many crazy name changes, but these are the longest names on record that we have processed to date. Many customers are surprised how easy and quick the process is and it is a fantastic conversation starter!”

Why Does Your Business Need PR?

Over the last few years PR has become increasingly popular and essential for ‘building a brand’. Well-known brands like PlayStation and Coca Cola spend very little time and money on brand-name advertising and instead focus their efforts on PR in both its traditional and online form.

It comes as no surprise that business owners become known in their respective fields of through the use of public relations and the associated media generated by such activities.

Understanding that the public crave a good story is essential for PR success, and the better the story, the more chance a brand has of making a connection with its audience. PR is essentially communicating with your target audience effectively through the use of the media, but your choice of outlet should be of the upmost importance in any strategy. This will increase both your revenue streams and boost your brands awareness.

PR is all about raising your profile, so whether you are launching a new product, a new service or you have an announcement to make, public relations will ensure that you stand out from the crowd when it really matters.
